Client: GIZ Namibia
Programme: Partnerships for Prevention of Gender-Based Violence in Southern Africa (PfP II)
Country: Namibia
Sector: Gender-Based Violence Prevention
Project Duration: 2025–2026

Technology Wisdom partnered with GIZ Namibia under the Partnerships for Prevention of Gender-Based Violence in Southern Africa (PfP II) programme to design, develop, deploy, and hand over a digital platform aimed at supporting gender-based violence prevention and awareness in Namibia.
The project involved adapting and extending an existing digital solution originally implemented in Lesotho, while introducing new functionality tailored to the Namibian context. The final solution included a cross-platform mobile application, backend administration portal, multilingual support, emergency safety features, technical documentation, training, and knowledge transfer for long-term sustainability.
This project demonstrates Technology Wisdom’s ability to deliver secure, scalable, and socially impactful digital solutions within international development programmes while working closely with stakeholders across multiple institutions.
Gender-based violence remains a major social challenge across Southern Africa. Namibia required a modern digital platform that could:
The project also involved replicating and improving an existing solution while adapting it to a new country context, stakeholders, languages, and operational requirements.
Several challenges emerged during implementation:
The solution needed to balance usability, accessibility, privacy, security, and long-term maintainability while supporting a highly sensitive subject area.

Rather than simply replicating the previous application, Technology Wisdom took full technical ownership of the solution and worked closely with stakeholders to improve usability, security, maintainability, and long-term sustainability.
One of the earliest strategic decisions involved evaluating the proposed technology stack. After technical consultation with stakeholders, the project proceeded using React Native, enabling a single codebase for both Android and iOS while maintaining faster development cycles and easier long-term maintenance.
The project was executed through an iterative approach that included:
Throughout the engagement, the focus remained on delivering a practical solution that would continue to serve stakeholders beyond the initial implementation phase.

Technology Wisdom developed a mobile application supporting both Android and iOS devices.
Key functionality included:
The mobile application was designed to be intuitive, accessible, and suitable for users operating under varying connectivity conditions.
A web-based administration portal was developed to support platform management and content administration.
The portal enables administrators to:
This ensures local stakeholders can operate and maintain the platform independently.

To improve accessibility and adoption, the platform was implemented with support for:
The multilingual design helps ensure that users can access information and support services in languages familiar to them.
Technology Wisdom delivered a complete documentation and knowledge-transfer package, including:
This documentation enables future maintenance, enhancements, and long-term sustainability of the platform.

The application provides emergency functionality including:
These features were designed to support users during critical situations while maintaining privacy and security.
Recognizing connectivity limitations in some environments, the platform was designed to continue providing access to critical content even when internet access is unavailable.
Users can access information and resources without depending on continuous connectivity.

Because the platform handles highly sensitive information, special attention was given to:
The architecture was designed with privacy and security as core requirements rather than afterthoughts.

The project successfully delivered a dedicated digital platform that enables users in Namibia to access information, support services, emergency tools, and educational resources related to gender-based violence prevention.
Key outcomes included:
The administration team can now manage platform content and operations independently without requiring ongoing developer involvement for day-to-day activities.
The platform established a scalable digital foundation capable of supporting awareness, engagement, and support initiatives for years to come.

Following successful completion of the project, GIZ Namibia formally acknowledged Technology Wisdom's contribution.
GIZ confirmed that Technology Wisdom successfully completed the assignment, delivered the required platform, documentation, deployment, training, and capacity-building activities, while demonstrating professionalism, strong technical competence, reliable project management, and responsiveness throughout implementation.
Review Official Letter HereThe successful completion of the project and the positive reference received further reinforced Technology Wisdom’s ability to deliver mission-critical digital solutions within international development environments.
“This project demonstrates something we strongly believe at Technology Wisdom: technology should solve real-world problems and create meaningful impact. The GBV Namibia platform was not simply another mobile application. It was a solution designed to improve access to information, support services, and emergency assistance for individuals facing difficult circumstances. Projects like this require more than development skills. They require careful planning, strong stakeholder engagement, security awareness, documentation discipline, training, and long-term sustainability thinking. What makes me particularly proud of this project is our team's ability to take ownership from concept to handover while working closely with international development partners and local institutions. The successful delivery, positive client feedback, and formal reference received from GIZ reflect the professionalism and commitment of our entire team.”

Technology projects are not always about transactions, marketplaces, or operational efficiency.
Some projects support public services, social development, and community well-being.
For this assignment, Technology Wisdom delivered more than a mobile application. We helped transform an existing concept into a scalable digital platform that supports awareness, access to information, emergency assistance, and stakeholder engagement in a highly sensitive social-impact environment.
From strategy and design to development, deployment, documentation, training, and handover, our team provided end-to-end delivery while working alongside international development stakeholders and local institutions.
Whether the goal is digital transformation, citizen engagement, public service delivery, or mission-driven technology, we help organizations turn complex requirements into practical, sustainable digital solutions.
